How Do I Open Stuck Jar Lid?

by gradschool2005 on Thursday, March 26, 2009 Article Rating 5.0 stars

There are lots of methods used to try and open those pesky jar lids that just stay stuck.  Some try banging the top of the jar on a countertop.  But that could be dangerous, especially if the jar slips and breaks!  Others try covering the top of the jar with a towel, and then using the increased friction to open the jar.  But again - sometimes, it just won't open.

Here's a list of commonly used methods to open a stuck jar lid:

1. Banging the jar on the countertop

2. Cover it with a towel and try again

3. Try to use a bottle opener to pry the lid off

4. Run the jar under hot water

The problem is that these methods often simply don't work.

When all else fails, there is actually a product on the market that can take care of this problem for you.  What's more, it does it automatically.  It is called the OneTouch Jar Opener, and you literally just place the opener on the jar, press the OneTouch button, and it does all the work.  What's more, it is small enough to fit in any drawer in your kitchen.
